Research Vendor Guide to mTAB™

Who is this guide for?

mTAB™ is a complete solution for the ad-hoc analysis of survey research data.

mTAB™ is an easy to use software tool specifically designed for the analysis of survey research data. mTAB™'s interface was designed with the spreadsheet user in mind. Described in brief, the interface allows the user to select questions from a survey to form the rows, columns or filters of a cross tabulation report.

Thousands of analysis across the globe use mTAB™ each day to gain valuable insights from their organization's investment in survey data.

As a Research Vendor you will most likely be using mTAB™ to check an mTAB™ database against reports or spreadsheets created from other sources.

This Guide was created to illustate the steps required to log onto mTAB™ with the username and password provided to you, select the appropriate mTAB™ study and to run weighted and/or unweighted frequencies or cross tabs of selected variables.

The resultant frequencies or cross tabs can then be readily exported to Excel, facilitating comparisions to existing checking materials.

Step 1: Access mTAB™ from your web browser at the URL: https://www.mtabweb.com

Step 2: Log in with the user name and password that were provided to you and select Open mTAB™

Step 3: Open the appropriate study from the Available Studies menu by either double-clicking on the study name or dragging the study name into the Primary Study selection box as shown below.

Step 4: Survey questions are organized in a Topics/Questions hierarchy. Click on the '+' sign preceding a Topic to display the questions as shown below. Either drag selected questions into the Row Stubs view, or entire topics as shown.

Step 5: You can easily add a question (or questions) to the Column Banners view to create a cross tab. Select the Columns tab from the right side of the screen. Next, drag a question or questions into the Column Banners view.

Run the tab to display the results by clicking on the yellow lighting bolt tool on the toolbar. The tab results will appear in the spreadsheet view as shown below.

Step 6: You an export the spreadsheet view to Excel (along with other select formats) by clicking on the second tool on the spreadsheet view toolbar as shown. Use the file save dialog to enter the desired filename, clicking on the Save button to save the spreadsheet.
