PAICSQ FAQs

Why does nothing happen after logging in?

A message appears, saying “You have successfully logged into CSQWeb”, but nothing happens after that. This usually is caused by an active pop-up blocker in Internet Explorer. After a successful log in, PAICSQ uses a pop-up window to start the application. There are two choices to use to allow PAICSQ to run. Please follow one of the following steps of either turning off the pop-up blocker in Internet Explorer or allowing www.csqweb.net in the Pop-up Blocker settings. Completing either of these steps will allow PAICSQ to start.

Allow Pop-ups in Internet Explorer - Method 1:

Notice that the pop-up blocked notification appears in the upper section of the window.

Click on the notification and select “Always Allow Pop-ups from This Site…”

What web browsers are compatible with PAICSQ?

What does PAICSQ stand for and what type of data does PAICSQ consist of?

Productive Access, Inc. Competitive Sales & Inventory Query (PAICSQ) is used for analyzing national automotive competitive sales and inventory data. Data sets within PAICSQ include sales data, inventory data, and days supply.

Why are certain models not found in the PAICSQ sales data?

Since the source of the PAICSQ data comes directly from auto manufacturers, each company chooses how their vehicles are reported. Certain manufacturers may choose to report their vehicle information at a lower level or in a way that aggregates models. It is important to note that the sales data used in PAICSQ is not official vehicle registration data. For further information, please see the accompanying topic “What is the source of PAICSQ sales data?

Why do certain models appear in the sales data, but are not found in the inventory data?

Not all manufacturers release inventory data at the same level of detail as the sales data they release. Some companies may release “Total Car” & “Total Truck” inventory numbers, with no numbers for their individual car and truck models.

What is the source of PAICSQ sales data?

The source of PAICSQ data, along with the actual sales numbers come directly from each auto manufacturer. Since the numbers are reported directly from each manufacturer, it is at their discretion on what content to release publicly.

Autodata, Inc. supplies Productive Access, Inc. with data collected from each of the auto manufacturers. These data files are what are used to update PAICSQ. For more information regarding Autodata, please visit their website at http://www.motorintelligence.com

How are fleet sales addressed?

PAICSQ monthly sales numbers reflect total new vehicle sales. Fleet sales are included in sales data.

Which markets are included in PAICSQ data?

PAICSQ data (sales and inventory) consists of the U.S. market only.

How often and when is PAICSQ updated?

Sales numbers are updated by the end of the industry agreed upon sales reporting day. This is normally no later than the third day of the following month. Inventory data is normally updated by the tenth day of the following month.

What does the “MEMO” label mean?

With certain vehicle listings, there is a “MEMO” notation next to the vehicle name, (MEMO: Camry Hybrid) or (MEMO: Honda Accord Hybrid). MEMO items are also included in the vehicle total. These MEMO items are typically a subset of the total. They are meant to provide a breakout of additional detail (country of production, drive train info, etc.).

In the PAICSQ spreadsheet view, what do S, I, and D stand for?

Codes are used in the third column of the spreadsheet (column C) to identify the type of data sets that were selected.

S = Sales Data, I = Inventory Data, D = Days Supply data

How is Days Supply calculated?

Days Supply (DS) is defined as:

DS = Inventory /Daily Selling Rate (DSR)
DSR = Sales / # of Selling Days
therefore, DS = Inventory / (Sales / # of Selling Days)
